At the end of last year, Kurt Hanson brought his RAIN Summit Europe to London.

One of the keynote speakers was the brilliant Guy Phillipson, CEO of the Internet Advertising Bureau UK. He spoke about the power of online audio for advertisers, including a great case study on the branded content work we at Mixcloud have done with Malibu Rum. We’ve uploaded the presentation to our Slideshare account here, and you can check out the slides below – it’s a fascinating talk. The Mixcloud + Malibu case study is on page 19 onwards.

Guy has constructed a pretty awesome theory that music was one of the first “apps” for telephones, pioneered by Queen Victoria in the 19th Century. More info on that in this article he wrote for the Drum.

We’d love to hear your feedback on Guy’s talk, his Queen Victoria theory and our Malibu case study. For more info on how Mixcloud works with brands, visit our partners page.
