Mixcloud launches Live streaming

Mixcloud Live is the first music focused, integrated solution to allow audio creators to live stream video.

We’ve seen an unprecedented interest in live broadcasting from the Mixcloud community all over the world. In 10+ years nothing has come close to the sudden demand we’re seeing for live today. As we enter a new reality with events cancelled and creators and institutions we love facing an extremely challenging financial future.

Today, we’re excited to launch Mixcloud Live for all Pro creators. It is the first music focused, integrated solution to allow audio creators to live stream video. In addition to easily archiving the audio and generate an income via Creator Subscriptions. All via a legal and licensed platform ensuring the underlying artists and songwriters who get played, get paid.

Our efforts to launch Live ride off the back of last month’s New Systems – a response to COVID-19 by Mixcloud. An ongoing response and exploration by Mixcloud as part of a collective community wide global effort to create new systems of working for audio creators amidst a global crisis.

This is something that we have been working tirelessly to bring to life in the right way for our community. Having built and released Mixcloud Live much earlier than we’d normally do, consequently there will be technical bugs and user experience flaws that we are still ironing out. Improving our service is now our team’s highest priority. It will get better every day.

We hope that Mixcloud Live brings a more interactive, fun and human experience to both creators and listeners. At a time when the world is socially distant and the need to feel closer is more important now more than ever.

Watch this space.
