10. Fort Knox

Fort Knox Recordings is a renegade funk and soul label from Washington DC. Established in 2003 by Steve Raskin, Jon Horvath, Rob Myers and Sid Barcelona, its mission is to explore the funkier side of music, from all genres around the world.

9. Breakin Bread

Breakin’ Bread is a record label, collective and club night based in London. Established in 1999, the label specialises in the funk and hip hop that surrounds the scene.

8. Anjunadeep

Anjunadeep is the deeper sister label of Anjunabeats, offering the best in deep house, progressive and melodic techno. Every week you can expect guest mixes from emerging stars, veteran DJs as well as the occasional mix head-honchos Above & Beyond.

7. Mukatsuku Records

Run by Nik Weston, Mukatsuku records is a strictly vinyl only label that launched in 2006 and spans everything from afrobeat and funk to soul and disco. Supporters include Gilles Peterson, Danny Krivit, Floating Points, Hunee and more.

6. The Vinyl Factory

Launched in 2001, The Vinyl Factory is an independent British music and arts enterprise, comprising of a record label, vinyl pressing plant, gallery spaces, record shop and music magazine.

Mixcloud listeners can expect to hear guest mixes by exciting underground stars, from Legowelt to Adrian Sherwood.

5. Spinnin’ Sessions by Spinnin’ Records

Besides providing you with the most upfront dance floor tracks of the moment, Spinnin’ Sessions also welcomes a weekly guest DJ for a special 30 minute mix. House, EDM and future bass are the order of the day.

4. Solid Steel by Ninja Tune

The Solid Steel radio show started in 1988 by Ninja Tune co-founders Matt Black and Jonathan More, aka Coldcut.

The show is now broadcast in over 30 stations around the world.

3. Hospital Records

Landing in third place is Hospital Records. An independent record label based in South London, Hospital Records focuses on drum ‘n’ bass and was launched in 1996.

The Hospital Podcast is hosted by the label’s co-founder Tony Colman, otherwise known as London Elektricity.

2. Tru Thoughts

Returning to the second spot in the most listened to labels on Mixcloud is Tru Thoughts. The Brighton-based imprint hosts a weekly ‘electronic, beats and bass’ radio show, which is presented by label founder and all-round music aficionado Robert Luis.

1. Defected Records

Taking home the crown for the most listened to label on Mixcloud in 2017 is Defected Records. Founded in London by Simon Dunmore in 1999, Defected Records has grown to become one of the most recognisable and successful labels in house music.

Defected Radio is hosted by Sam Divine and celebrates the best new four-on-the-floor releases, with guest mixes thrown in for good measure.
