Top 10 most listened to eclectic profiles on Mixcloud in 2017

At Mixcloud, we’re constantly inspired by our thriving community of DJs and radio hosts, who constantly celebrate an array of new sounds from all over the world. Whether it’s rare grooves, nu-jazz or electronica and indie, these ‘eclectic’ selectors play an important role in making Mixcloud a great source for discovering new music.

But which top 10 eclectic specialists did we spend the most minutes listening to in 2017? All is revealed below.

This list is calculated based on the total minutes listened per profile:

In 10th position is Music Is My Sanctuary. Focusing on discovering and presenting music often overlooked by mainstream music channels, MIMS is the place to find rare jazz, electronic, hip-hop and everything in between.

9. Mr. Scruff

DJ, Ninja Tune recording artist and cartoon doodler, Mr Scruff plays across the board, fitting between soul, funk, hip hop, jazz, reggae and more.

As a producer he makes music that draws on these influences, with a large dose of cheek and good humour. His cartoon drawings illustrate gig flyers, record sleeves and CD covers, and usually accompany him at gigs as live animated visuals.

8. Spiritland

Spiritland is an audiophile’s dream. A mix between a café, bar, shop and a studio, the London institution is also the occasional home to some of the finest selectors of electronica, jazz, soul and dance music, which you can listen back to on Mixcloud.

7. Wonky Sensitive

You never know quite what to expect with Wonky Sensitive. Alternating between indie, pop, electronic and RnB, the Austin-based selector has established a reputation for expertly crafting mixtapes to suit all types of moods.

6. Chris Coco
