In April 2017, Dr. Martens launched the DM’s Boot Room, its very own music venue and cultural space. Launching as part of their London flagship store in Camden market, this unique new space is an intimate 60-cap venue built to host live bands, DJ sets, talks and creative workshops.
To bring this space to life, Dr. Martens partnered with us to curate the space as well as create a brand new radio show, exclusive to Mixcloud.
Kicking off with New York rapper Mykki Blanco earlier this summer, we’ll soon be seeing the likes of Rejjie Snow, Paigey Cakey and Warpaint, as well as DJs like Oneman, Alia Loren, Kaya Kaya Records, NTS Radio DJs and loads more still to be announced.
Teaming up with young, creative platforms like Day Job Studio and Keash Braids for launches, talks and workshops, the DM’s Boot Room will also provide rehearsal and recording space for upcoming London acts.
Alongside the new series of events, we will be producing dedicated radio shows from the space, called Dr. Martens On Air.
Featuring interviews, exclusive live recordings and a selection of the artist’s favourite tunes, Dr. Martens On Air will go behind the setlist to learn what makes each artist tick.
The dedicated channel will also host live recordings from bands on Dr. Martens stages at festivals across the UK such as Live at Leeds, The Great Escape, Camden Rocks, and Afropunk, featuring exciting new acts like: Clay, Ekkah, Rationale, Abra Cadabra, Superfood, Cabbage, Asylums, and Bloody Knees – as well as exclusive DJ sets recorded in-store from the likes of Liana (Radar), Rachel Noble (NTS), and White Heat DJs.
