Best of 2015: Dance

1. John Digweed
One of the planet’s most popular DJs, John Digweed’s sets never fall out of favour with clubbers the world over and his Transitions radio show has become a staple of the Mixcloud dance lovers’ diet. From ethereal, cinematic soundscapes to energy infused bass-bothering tech growlers, a new generation of techno and house fans are learning what we already know, that there’s nothing quite like being locked into a Digweed set. John Digweed is not just a DJ either, Bedrock, his record label, promotions company and production partnership with Nick Muir, is a mothership of creative ingenuity and integrity that other labels orbit around.

This, plus his incredibly busy DJ schedule, becomes apparent when you listen to his weekly Carl Cox Global show, featuring mixes and live sets recorded around the world. Listen and picture his unforgettable presence behind the turntables as his head bobs up and down to the beat, his hands pump the air, his body sways back and forth, and he frequently takes to the mic to share word on the latest underground tune he’s about to break.
