The International Radio Festival (IRF) named Nick Canovas, aka “DJ Dad”, as the winner of the 4th IRF Best US/Canada College DJ competition. Nick is a DJ on WUML radio, 91.5 FM in Lowell, Massachusetts with a special show entitled “Time in the Study”. The station is a non-commercial, college-run radio station located on the campus. The contest was sponsored by iBiquity’s HDRadio and supported by and CMJ.

“Radio is my passion and college radio is a great place to experiment and highlight local and emerging musicians. We make the medium more accessible to a younger audience, as well as build campus and community relations. I’m thrilled to represent WUML and am grateful to the IRF for this chance to present my show to a global audience. I am very much looking forward to meeting all the talented DJs from around the world in Zurich to learn more about their programming experience,” said Canovas.
