Now that you have an active profile on Mixcloud it’s time to think about ways to grow it further, and reach more listeners outside of the Mixcloud community. The easiest way to do this is by connecting your Mixcloud profile with other social platforms that you are actively updating.

And here’s a secret: social media integration will help get you more listeners. How? Read on…

There are various platforms you can connect. Firstly, go to your Settings page in the Connections tab: http://www.mixcloud.com/settings/connections/

Here’s a list of connections you can create and why they help:

Facebook

There are 3 ways you can connect your Facebook profile:

  1. Facebook Profile Sharing – this setting will share your listening history with your friends on Facebook
  2. Facebook Fan Page Connect – connect your Facebook page(s) to your Mixcloud profile for your uploads to post automatically.
  3. Facebook Fan Page Tabs – this allows your fans to find your Mixcloud profile, follow it and listen to your content straight from your Facebook page. More info here.

Twitter & Tumblr

Twitter is a really powerful tool for driving more listeners. When your Twitter account is connected and your fans listen, favorite or share your uploads – you will get ‘@ mentioned’ in their Tweets (linking back to your Twitter profile).

As you can see, you’re in control of what type of Mixcloud activity will be posted on Twitter or Tumblr. The first one is really useful if you don’t want to bother writing up a new tweet or Tumblr post every time you upload.

Google+, Last.fm and Soundcloud

If you connect these platforms we will automatically display their outbound links on your Mixcloud profile. This means that your fans can now easily find your other profiles and start engaging with you outside of Mixcloud as well:
