Recently we held the first Mixcloud Curates event in NYC.
Around 100 of the best and brightest minds in music, technology and marketing braved the rain storms and made it down for 2 very special panels:
1. Offline/online working together
Shana Fong (Music/Entertainment Marketing at Eventbrite)
Cecilia Pagkalinawan (Founder at Apploud)
Brandon Martinez (Cofounder & CEO of INDMusic)
Tegan Gaan (Founder at Gigit)
Nikhil Shah (Mixcloud Cofounder) + Moderator
2. Brands & Music
Ed Shapiro (Entertainment Attorney – Reed Smith Partner)
Andrew Hampp (Billboard) + Moderator
“We’re hungry to surround ourselves by culturally engaged and culturally aware people” and “Brands are storytellers. If artists are creating content outside of just the music that’s good” – Justin Medcraft from Smirnoff
On the role of agencies: “Cultural translators are essential” – DJ Eleven
Bridging the offline/online gap, the panels were well received notably via Twitter:
