Mixcloud & IRF Online Radio Awards 2014 Winners


Six weeks ago, Mixcloud and the International Radio Festival launched the inaugural Online Radio Awards 2014 with the objective of recognising outstanding curatorship, production and creative talent within the online radio industry.

Over 20,000 votes have been registered representing Online Radio Shows and Stations from all over the world. 60 Radio Shows and 25 Radio Stations were shortlisted and passed on to a panel of industry judges.

It’s finally been whittled down to two winners (drum rolls please)…

Best Online Radio Show 2014: Solid Steel Radio Show
Best Online Radio Station 2014: NTS Radio


The Solid Steel crew got in touch saying: “Coldcut and the crew are very chuffed to be recognised by Mixcloud with these 2 Awards for our online radio show Solid Steel. Mixcloud is a model of how streaming mixes can work for not just DJs but artists and labels too…nuff respect

NTS Radio have also said a “massive thanks to everyone involved  – especially the listeners and the Dj’s, who make the station what it is”.

Best Talk Show: All Things Considered
Best World Show: Gilles Peterson Worldwide

Online Radio Station:

Best Asia/Pacific Station: Base FM
Best EMEA Station: RBMA Radio
Best North American Station: Brooklyn RadioRunner up of Best Online Radio Station 2014
Best South American Station: Radio Cómeme
Best UK Station: NTS Radio
