We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with the local and independent TEDTalks’ event TEDxBricklane. We share their interesting vision of creating a richer definition of the DJ and inspire DJs, promoters, music technologists, sound designers and fans.

To show how the role of the DJ has evolved in the history of music, TEDxBrickLane has curated some incredible mixes from DJs around the world using Mixcloud.

The TEDxBrickLane event is scheduled on Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 11:30 PM (GMT) in London. It will be made up of a series of eight talks, each addressing a different aspect of the art of mixing music. Eight speakers selected for their unique perspective on the world of the DJ will not only look at the cause of the DJ’s rise to the forefront of popular music, but also consider the wider effect its had on culture, society and the the development of technology.

The event will be streamed live at http://www.tedxbricklane.co.uk/Watch.
