Cloudcasts of the Week

We’re back with our famous round-up of the loudest, smartest & hippest material on Mixcloud this week. There’s certainly no shortage; familiar faces such as Laid Back, Leftoo & Chris Coco continue their wave of innovative content and NME DJ Firas warms up for Secret Garden Party.

However they were pipped to the post, no mean feat, by smashing mixes from listing gurus Don’t Stay In, new kid on the London cobbles BUG and drum and bass veteran DJ Marky. Allow us to elaborate:

1. DJ Marky: Jungle D&B Classics Set

Marco Antonio Silva aka DJ Marky has been spinning drum and bass since the dawn of the 90s. His flair for the genre saw him reside at the martyr of London clubs that is the End and a spot at the 2006 Lovebox festival. For this one he jumps into his expansive record collection and pulls out some primal jungle and rude d&b for the fast lane. Warning: may cause excessive raving.

2. BUG: Soular Powered

Spring 2010 saw the maiden release on fledgling net-label Jus’ Like Music Records in the form of psychedelic hip hop producer BUG. The single Comic Lab / 20 Winks acted as a precursor to compilation project Oscillations and provided a flavour for an exciting young label. This mix showcases the now in instrumental hip hop and hints at a number of influences drawn on by the young producer.

3. Don’t Stay In: Showtek (Hardstyle)

They pride themselves in being “The world’s biggest dance music and clubbing website”; Dont Stay In step up with a mix from veteran hardstylers Showtek. The Dutch duo have been banging out rave anthems since the early 2000s and their quest for world domination in the hard dance scene is far from relenting, as you’ll hear below.
